New Year’s Eve at Cinecittà World: theme park and party in one
Cinecittà World is the cinema-themed amusement park just outside Rome, on the via Pontina. On 31 December it stays open for twelve hours straight, from 18:00 until 06:00, and changes character: the rides keep running all night and the park’s streets become open-air dance floors.
It is a rare New Year’s Eve option in Rome where a single ticket gets you both the funfair and the nightclub, with four stages playing different genres at the same time.
Where it is and how to get there
The park is at via di Castel Romano 200, on the via Pontina heading towards Latina, about half an hour’s drive from central Rome. There are two thousand parking spaces on site. If you are not driving, a shuttle bus runs from Termini station and from the EUR Magliana stop on metro line B: the most convenient option on a night when public transport stops early and taxis are hard to find.
The New Year’s Eve programme
At the last edition the park opened at 18:00 with the rides running and four stages active in different parts of the park: one for hard and tech sounds, one for reggaeton, one for a nineties-versus-noughties face-off and the big covered main stage. At midnight the fireworks go up over Cinecittà Street, then the party carries on until first light. Street-food areas are open throughout the park.
Prices and packages
At the last published edition general admission cost €40 and included all the rides open during the night, the four stages, the street-food areas and parking. There were no packages with a served dinner: you eat at the park’s food outlets. The 2027 price will be confirmed by the park.
Who it suits
This is New Year’s Eve for people who would rather be on their feet and on the move than sitting at a table, and for large groups: you arrive early, wander around, dance and eat whenever you like. The early hours, with the rides open, also work well for families. If you are looking for a served New Year’s Eve dinner or an elegant evening, choose a different venue.
