Your options at a glance
There are five ways to spend New Year's Eve in Rome on 31 December 2026. The first is a served New Year's dinner (the Italian cenone, a long multi-course meal) in a villa, a hotel or a restaurant, with the midnight toast and the party under the same roof. The second is a club, where you can either dine on site or buy a party-only ticket. Then there is dinner and a show in a historic palazzo or a hall with live entertainment, and the hotel option, with dinner, party and your room all in one building. Finally there is the square, with the free concert that the City of Rome usually stages at the Circus Maximus. Every venue on NewYearsEveRome.com has its own page with prices and a map.
Dinner in a villa or in the City Centre
Villas and country estates suit anyone who wants parking, grounds and no traffic: Villa Cassia on the Via Cassia, Villa Grant and Casale 4.5 to the south, Casale Traiano and Castello Miramare out towards Fiumicino, where the dinner at Casale Traiano costs €90. The historic centre is the place for palazzi and hotels: Palazzo Brancaccio, the DoubleTree near Termini, the Boscolo facing the Circus Maximus and Casina Valadier in the Villa Borghese gardens. EUR has more parties close together than anywhere else in the city, between Piazza Marconi and Torrino.
Just the party: clubs and after-dinner tickets
If you eat at home and go out later, plenty of venues sell an after-dinner ticket: either from 11pm with the midnight toast included (Room 26 charges €50) or from 12.30am at a lower price (€29 at Exe Roma, €35 at the Mercure, €40 at Eden). The clubs are Eden Experience by the Stadio Olimpico, Exe Roma and Room 26 in EUR, and Opus Club in Flaminio. Book private tables first: there are very few of them.
New Year's Eve with children
Several venues offer a children's menu and a seat at the family table (the children's price at Casale Traiano is €45): you will find them all on the New Year's Eve in Rome with children page. The best for little ones are the two country estates, with grounds and rooms set aside for them, and the hotels, where you can simply go up to your room when the children get tired.
The concert in the square and the fireworks
In recent years the City of Rome has put on a free New Year's Eve concert at the Circus Maximus, with the line-up announced in December and free entry until the area is full. The programme for 31 December 2026 has not been announced yet: we will update this guide as soon as it is. Fireworks are not guaranteed every year. If you want to catch the concert and then go dancing, look at the parties in the City Centre and the after-dinner tickets at the clubs, all of which let you in after midnight.
New Year's Eve on a budget
Under €50: the after-dinner ticket at Exe Roma (€29), Mercure Roma West (€35) or Eden Experience (€40), the party ticket with open bar at Residenza Castelverde (€49) and Room 26 (€50). To have dinner for less, there is the buffet dinner at Profumo and Qvinto (€80) and the New Year's dinner at Casale Traiano (€90).
When to book
Online sales open in the autumn. Villas, restaurants and private tables sell out between late November and mid-December; clubs keep selling party tickets until the last few days, but the price goes up as the date gets closer. Where sales are open, you buy from the venue's page and receive a voucher with a QR code; where the venue manages its own tables, you book on WhatsApp. For getting around, read how to get around Rome on New Year's Eve.
