New Year’s Eve at Target Restaurant, between Repubblica and Termini

Target Restaurant is a restaurant-club on via Torino, the street between via Nazionale and piazza dell’Esquilino, next to the Teatro dell’Opera. It is spread over two floors and on 31 December uses both, with the same New Year’s Eve dinner menu upstairs and downstairs.

Dinner is served at the table and carries on with music: a table reserved for the whole night, the midnight toast and traditional Christmas sweets are all included. The menu is also available in a vegetarian version, and there is an option for children.

Where it is and how to get there

The address is via Torino 33, between via Nazionale and piazza dell’Esquilino. Repubblica station on metro line A is a few minutes’ walk away; Termini, where lines A and B meet, is ten minutes away. By car you can arrive from via Nazionale or via Cavour, but the area is best reached by public transport and on-street parking is paid.

The New Year’s Eve programme

At the last edition the rooms opened at 20:30 for the New Year’s Eve dinner served at the table. The price included one bottle of wine for every four guests, one bottle of prosecco for every four for the toast, Christmas sweets and a table reserved for the whole night.

Upstairs the entertainment is live; downstairs the room is wired for the same music, with a vocalist. The 2027 programme will be confirmed by the management.

Prices and packages

Prices at the last edition, all in advance: New Year’s Eve dinner upstairs costs €135 per person, downstairs €110 per person, and the children’s menu for under-tens costs €60 and can only be bought together with an adult dinner downstairs. Bottles of champagne can only be added with dinner: €120 for a 0.75-litre bottle, €60 for a 0.375-litre bottle, table service included. 2027 prices are being updated.

Who it suits

It is a convenient option if you are arriving by train or staying in the centre: you have dinner, toast the New Year and stay at your table with the music until late, without moving on at midnight. Upstairs is for those who want the live music right in front of them, downstairs for those who prefer the same menu for less. With the children’s menu it also works as a family night out.
