New Year’s Eve at Park Hotel Villa Grazioli, in the Castelli Romani
Park Hotel Villa Grazioli is a historic villa once owned by cardinals, now a boutique hotel in Grottaferrata. Inside, it retains its frescoed halls; outside there is a garden, a swimming pool and a restaurant with panoramic views over Rome.
On 31 December the hotel offers a complete evening: a welcome aperitivo, a candlelit gala dinner, the midnight toast and then a disco with entertainers. If you only want to join the second half of the night, there is a dedicated after-dinner entry.
Where it is and how to get there
Grottaferrata is in the Castelli Romani, the hill towns south-east of Rome, about twenty kilometres from the city centre. From the Grande Raccordo Anulare ring road, take via Anagnina or via Tuscolana and head up towards Frascati. Public transport is limited on the night of 31 December, so you will need a car and should agree in advance who is driving home. Alternatively, you can ask the hotel for a room for the night.
The New Year’s Eve programme
At the last edition the programme began at 20:00 with a welcome aperitivo and a buffet of starters. At 20:30 the candlelit gala dinner began. At 23:30 guests with the after-dinner package arrived, and at midnight everyone raised a glass, with a dessert buffet and a view of the city’s fireworks.
After midnight comes cotechino with lentils (the traditional Italian New Year’s dish of spiced pork sausage with lentils) and the party: music, entertainers and dancing. The 2027 programme will be confirmed by the hotel.
Prices and packages
Prices at the last published edition: the adults’ New Year’s Eve party (the Italian “veglione”, dinner and celebrations through the night) costs €120 per person and includes the aperitivo with buffet, the gala dinner, the toast and the disco; the children’s package costs €65; after-dinner entry, from 23:30, costs €40. 2027 prices are being updated.
Who it suits
This package suits anyone who wants a sit-down dinner and a party in the same place: couples, groups travelling by car and families, with a children’s rate and entertainers after the toast. If you only want the last part of the night, there is the after-dinner entry. It is not the most practical choice if you are travelling from Rome by public transport.
