New Year’s Eve at Hanami Restaurant, with sushi and Brazilian music

Hanami Restaurant is a Japanese restaurant in EUR, close to the lake. On 31 December the room brings together two things: dinner, with unlimited sushi served at the table, and a Brazilian show that runs alongside the service. The New Year’s Eve party (the Italian “veglione”, an all-night celebration) has limited places and entry is by booking only.

After midnight the mood shifts: a toast with sparkling wine, cotechino and lentils (the traditional Italian New Year’s dish of spiced pork sausage with lentils), then Brazilian music and a DJ set. If you only want the second half of the night, you can come in from 23:30.

Where it is and how to get there

The address is piazza Umberto Elia Terracini 10/14, 00144 Rome, in the EUR district a short walk from the lake. The nearest metro line B stops are EUR Palasport and EUR Fermi, both a few minutes away on foot. By car, the main route is via Cristoforo Colombo, which links EUR with the city centre and continues towards the Grande Raccordo Anulare ring road.

The New Year’s Eve programme

At the last published edition dinners began at 20:30, with a table reserved for the whole night, one bottle of wine for every four guests and the Brazilian show during the service. At midnight came the toast with sparkling wine, again one bottle for every four guests, together with cotechino and lentils; straight afterwards the room switched to the DJ set. The 2027 programme will be confirmed by the restaurant.

Prices and packages

Prices at the last edition, all in advance: the Platinum served dinner costs €95 per person and also includes all-you-can-eat sushi at the table, the all-you-can-eat sushi package costs €80 per person, and the children’s meat menu costs €50. Gold club entry at 23:30 costs €30, with one drink and the toast. The Gold VIP table, also from 23:30, costs €300 for up to six people with one bottle included, and each extra person costs €50. 2027 prices are being updated.

Who it suits

The evening suits couples and groups who want a sushi dinner with entertainment in the room, without having to move on for the music. The dedicated children’s menu also makes it workable for a family dining early.
